Reed River Kennel

Reed River Kennel is located in Northern Minnesota and our passion is to pass along the joy our Picardy Spaniels have brought to us.  We have 2 females and this will be our 4th litter.  We spend countless hours outdoors hunting ducks, geese, grouse, sharp tail, woodcock and pheasant.  We strive to breed dogs with good temperament and excellent hunting ability while also meeting the breed standards as well as introducing wonderful companions to the home.   

CastIron Cleo’s Darwin, scored a perfect Prize 1 with a NAVHDA NA test score of 112/112 points.  He spends most of his fall hunting pheasants in Kansas and recorded more than 50 point/retrieves last fall.  Darwin has a very pleasant demeanor and is very well mannered.  He is 4 years old and is 55 lbs and measures 22” tall at the withers.  He runs 40 acres daily, is in excellent condition and has great body formation.  This is his second litter with Tuula.

Reed River’s Tuula is the daughter of our original female (Nyda’s), who was imported from France in 2018.  Tuula is now 5 years old and is a phenomenal hunter.  She scored a perfect 112 Prize 1 on her NAVHDA Natural Ability test and has been retrieving wild game to hand since her first hunting season at 6 months old.  She has a good temperament and is calm around the house when not hunting.  She and her mother both live in the home with us and are hunting machines in the field.  Their range is close to medium and both perform solid points.  Tuula is 55 lbs and 22” at the withers.  This will be her second litter.
